Elinor Woolf

Paintings

Elinor Woolf is a distinguished New York artist. She uses a realistic approach to shape a personal vision.

Her realism hints of essentials applied but of details forgotten or never recalled, thus enabling the viewer to read the image in terms of his or her own mood and feeling, whether the image be a landscape, portrait or still life. Perhaps we are looking for what is not there, as if absence were more important than presence. If so, we have learned at the artist's hand that less is more, perhaps that less is deeper and more rewarding.

Woolf has an MA in visual arts from Patterson State College and has studied at the Richmond School of Art in Great Britain and the Art Students League in New York. She has exhibited widely and her work appears in many private collections.
