The "parent" image

This is a "parent" black and white photograph out of which the following 10 images in this series were created. Dolores Glover Kaufman explains, "Starting with a a seminal image, I attempt to give birth to a variety of new images having evocative powers quite removed from the "parent." Although sharing the same DNA, as it were, the "child" takes on a personality and destiny all its own. To achieve these ends, I use an application that utilizes mathematical iterations and chaos concepts."

A careful study of the 10 "children" which follow may not always betray evidence of their origin. Nonetheless, the images in this series are sensual, erotic and unusual, even without reference to their origin.

Dolores Glover Kaufman is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art and Case Western Reserve University. She taught photography and art in both public and private schools, lectured on photography at Case Western Reserve and long operated a commercial photography studio. Her art has been widely exhibited.
